![]() ![]() Suggested replacements for all underlined words were unreasonable - mostly upper case abbreviations like my initials or other things. When a word is underlined in red, right click on it, and select the correct spelling from the AutoCorrect submenu. I went back to my first Write doc and tried changing settings in the Tools/Spelling and Grammar./Options settings, but while something I changed got rid of some of the underlining, something else as I continued changing settings caused it to revert to the underlining. If I run spell check it believes that every word is wrongly spelt and if I have check spelling as you type enabled then it underlines every word in wiggly red. In fact, now that I think of it, that's where I first saw this, in an Impress doc the previous day, but decided it was a passing glitch and didn't think any more of it until the Write doc opened with the same problem. Ignore all will remove all markings for that word in current document. To make spellcheck also ignore the word, right click the underlined word and select 'Ignore' (should be the top item after the first divider line, i.e. The spell check works if I press F7, but it just doesnt underline the misspelled words. Foreign words can be marked with their respective language, but you can also just ignore them. I tried another doc, this time an Impress doc, and it had the same underlining. If that removes all the red squiggly underlines, then youve found the cause. Its probably best to uncheck 'Detect language automatically', because that feature isnt reliable. I tried closing Write and reopening, and it was still the same. Select all the text, click the Review tab of the ribbon, click the Language button, and click the Set Proofing Language item. I closed the doc and re-opened and it still had the underlining. It wasn't a new doc, but a journal that I add to daily. Suddenly the wiggly red underlining indicating a spelling error occurred for ALL words in my Write document.
